How to Connect the HP Desk-jet 3050 to a Wireless Router 2019
For a wireless printer connection, it is important that you put your printer on the same WiFi network as your computer. Here is a quick and easy guide on HP Deskjet 3050 and 3750 Wireless Printers Setup-
WPS push button setup is the easiest way to connect the printer to a wireless network. However, the wireless router needs to support WPS push button setup. Most of the BT supplied routers has a WPS button on the top or side of your Hub. Here is how to perform a push button WPS setup:
However, apologies for not explainng in my original query, but I have tried the WPS option several times.... including restarting the router, removing automatic 'smart connect' options and several other BT forum inspired options.
I connected the cable and went into the Utility on the Mac. This allowed me to set up a new wireless connection for the printer. I then removed the printer USB cable when the wireless connection was established.
Solution:if MAC address filtering is enabled on your router you should disable it.if you would like to keep it enabled you must first add the MAC address of your device to the list of permitted devices for you wireless router before continuing?I have no idea what this means as im not really good with all networking stuff.I believe its the deco because i disconected the decos and enabled the wireless on my verizon fios router and had no problem connecting the printer.
MAC filtering blocks devices not on its list from connecting. If the printer is the only wireless device not connecting, likely it is not MAC filtering. If your printer has the ability to connect to a device by using WPS, here is a FAQ that shows how to enable it for the Deco: -link.com/us/support/faq/2332/
"ATTENTION: More than one access point/wireless router has been found that matches your wireless network name (SSID). If this is not intended, your HP printer may connect to the wrong wireless network. To avoid this, change your wireless network name (SSID) to be unique."
rgreenpc - Thank you so much for this. I have a Brother 3170 CDW Color Laser which was previously on an Apple network and worked flawlessly. I tried a fresh setup (factory reset the printer) and it refused to work wirelessly. I called tech support and they told me it was probably a dual band issue - the printer was switching rapidly between 2.4 and 5GHz because it was so close to the beacon. I then plugged it into the Ethernet port of the router in a different room, still no success. I wasn't happy, because I had to carry 20lb or so of bulky laser printer up more than 20 stairs to find it didn't work.
I'm having this same problem. Can someone walk me through the steps I need to do to change my static IP address. I have a Hp Deskjet 3639 printer and it keeps telling me. "ATTENTION: More than one access point/wireless router has been found that matches your wireless network name (SSID). Turn on the printer after making sure the main tray is loaded with paper. Select Restore Network Defaults from the Wireless, Settings, or Restore Settings menus on the printer. Obtain the network name as well as the password. For further information, see Find the wireless network password or PIN to connect an HP printer.
The HP printer series has been a popular choice among customers because it provides a variety of unique features, a small design, and the fastest printing speeds. However, users may experience difficulty with wireless connectivity or errors while using HP wireless printers. None of this works for me. Been trying for 3 days to connect a brand new 3755 Deskjet. On other routers, I've always had the option to connect separate networks for 2.4 and 5.0 but you cant do that with Eero. HP help site says if your router is dual band, which Eero is, you cannot have the same SSID for 2.5 and 5.0 Eero says you cannot separate them. To connect Eero says you must deactivate the 5.0 in their settings (troubleshooting) for the network to connect the printer to 2.4.(only deactivates for 10 minutes, so work fast). . HP install instructions require WPS which Eero doesn't support. There is an instruction I found somewhere to first connect with a USB printer cable (square on one end - printer does not come with one). then after you get the printer working with the cable you can convert the USB connection to wireless. I'll try that next. If I had my druthers, I'd return the Eero but have had it too long, so if this doesn't work we'll have to return the printer and eat the cost of the ink we bought. Not a Eero fan.
Updating your router firmware can help improve connectivity and keep your router secure. It is always recommended to install the latest available updates to keep your network safe and efficient.[1]XExpert SourceLuigi OppidoComputer & Tech SpecialistExpert Interview. 13 November 2020. Most routers have a built-in update checker, which may or may not perform the entire process automatically. If you're using an Apple AirPort router, you can use the AirPort Utility program to check for updates. 2ff7e9595c
